Article marketing is oft misunderstood and badly scorned as a cheap method of advertising. Well I tell you these people have either never bothered to try and impliment a proper Article marketing campaign or they have tried submitting the same article to 100’s of directories or they have simply used poor quality articles.

One has discovered in actual fact that a properly structured high quality article marketing strategy has tremendous power which will give your website excellent authority for many years to come.

One needs to clarify exactly where article marketing fits into the grand scheme of Internet Marketing. Article marketing is one of the many tools used by competant and successful Internet Marketers. They understand the power of  valid and relevant information to underpin the value of their website content.

So lets quantify the basics of article marketing:-

“It is the distribution of good quality and unique information in the form of articles to well established and trusted article directories”

These best of these directories have been around for many years and are a database of hundreds of thousands of articles of all shape and size and on pretty much any topic you can imagine. As such in the eyes of the search engines they are both trusted and authoritive, which is a testament to the great management of the owners of these article directories.

It is because of this great management and high standard that a skilled Article Marketer can leverage the authority of them. Whilst almost all aspiring Internet Marketer very early on learns about when they start out trying to make money online.

Unfortunately there is a veritable ton of disinformation around and it is very easy to follow the first plausable idea that comes to light. That is usually find an article written by someone else change a couple of things and then submit it to as many article directories as possible. However this is seen as spam and duplicate content by the search engines and any links to your website contained therein are largely ignored and sometimes will even lead to your website being penalised.

In reality Article marketing is a long term powerful method of increasing the authority of your own website. As with any business it should be treated as an asset and treated as such taking care of any asset is a vital part of the success of your business.

So do not abuse the efforts of the webmasters of the highly powerful article directories by submitting sub quality duplicate content on mass. It would be better to spend a day crafting a quality unique content article to the top ten article directories than it would to spend the day submitting a re-hashed second hand article to a few hundred directories.
